Will the vehicle require modifications for use on UK roads?

Yes, vehicles less than ten years old will require some minor modifications in order to pass the Department for Transport ‘Single Vehicle Approval’ (SVA) inspection. When your new vehicle is delivered to you, we will have carried out all necessary SVA test inspections and modifications for you.

What about Alarms?

We recommend fitting a Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm and Immobiliser to any American vehicle entering the UK - these are recognised by UK insurers and will significantly reduce your premiums - we can fit any make/model of alarm, immobiliser and Tracker systems

Will the modifications for the SVA test affect the appearence of my new vehicle?
We ensure that all modifications are carefully designed to minimalise any differences to the
standard vehicle. For example the reversing light in the current light cluster will become the
indicators, and a reversing lamp and fog lamp will be fitted flush to the rear bumper on either
side of the number plate. We are now able to fit UK style rear clusters - these do not affect the appearance of your new car at all!

Yes, all our vehicles are delivered taxed, registered, with the number plates fitted and even fully valeted by our sister company www.cleanmycar.com. How are the vehicles insured in the period between payment and delivery?
The vehicles are fully insured for the purchase price. Marine insurance covers the vehicle during the period from US docks to UK docks. The ‘Traders policy’ covers the vehicles during the SVA testing and modifications and all our vehicles are delivered on transporters to customers which are covered by ‘Goods in transit CMR and all risks conditions’.
